God's Not Like That pt.2

God’s Not Like That written by Bryan and published by David C Cook, has been released!

As we gather tomorrow, we're privileged to have Pastor Bryan Clark back with us. On the heels of his message from last week, we plan to engage a kind of Q/A conversation about a few of the major themes. I trust that the time will continue to help us evaluate our minds and hearts for misconceptions about our God. I also hope that Bryan's book will help us pursue greater Christlikeness in our homes. Having read the book (a re-read a few chapters), I can say that it has challenged me to be a better husband and father. Here's a couple of quotes that might wet your appetite:

“A husband should be able to say to his children when he tucks them in bed at night, ‘Kids, if you want to know how Jesus loves you, just watch how I love your mom’…When a husband fails to love his wife as Christ loved the church, he paints a portrait of Jesus that isn’t accurate.”

“When she tucks her children in bed at night, a wife should be able to say, ‘Kids, if you want to know how we are to respond to the love of Jesus, just watch how I respond to your dad’…A wife who is unwilling to submit herself to her husband in the marriage is teaching her children that it is permissible to rebel against Jesus.”
